Bass Fishing
    #4020574 - 04/06/05 08:54 AM (12 years, 1 month ago)

The largemouth bass have been doing their annual spring, pre-spawn feeding frenzy. I caught this 6.5 lber Sunday and lost one just as big or bigger a few cast before. I've also been catching 3-5 lbers on a regular basis. All have been released back into the lake besides two which a friend and I consumed over a few beers Sunday evening.
It only last a few days and the rest of the year is extremely slow compared to this action.

Nice fish!~

I love bass fishing.

I have a 9.5 pound largemouth on my wall...from Beaver Lake.

I lost a 14 pound largemouth in 1993...it would have been a Washington State Record...broke my line, right as I was landing it. :frown:
That was at Lake Fenwick...place that the Fenwick fishing pole was named after.

Nice, I have a 8 lber on my wall, I caught him when I was 13 or 14.  He wieghed 8 after 4 hours on a stringer, it was the biggest bass in the state that year.  Everything off Rat-L-Traps, they don't seem to work often, just a short period this time of year.  I always catch hogs with them though

The state record here is 10lbs 14 ounces and has stood 20 years despite my numorous attempts at taking it over.

Nice bucket mouth!

My best is 7 lbs - missed the state record by 2 ounces.

Location - back yard.

I've got a nice 6-7 lb'r hangin out under the dock now.

very cool!~

I caught the 9.5 pound largemouth on a dick nite.
I was trolling for rainbow trout at the time.

The 14 pounder hit a large weedless rubber frog...he ripped the frog up pretty bad.
I'm lucky I have another one...couldn't find anymore like it.

Damn, I gotta get back to my fishing roots. Always went fishing as a kid, bass are my favourite to fish for.

I remember one time we were in a provincial park (Kilarny, Ontario) and I brought my fishing pole. We canoed out to some logs and just started jigging. Holy fuck were they biting like crazy, huuuuge small mouths. It might've been because we dipped the lure in canned chicken sauce

Either way, on our way out of the park we picked up a newspaper and in big bold letters we saw a column saw "No Fishing Allowed in Kilarny" Hahah no wonder they were biting, they've never seen a lure before. They were so big because no one ever caught them.

This was enough to sustain him during the six steps of asceticism leading to his Enlightenment.
In recent centuries, higher doses have been favoured.
