rizomorph for new growth
    #4018212 - 04/05/05 04:38 PM (18 years, 11 months ago)

i was just watching a stamets video of a lecture i have of his and he suggested a really good technique which i have not heard of .. maybe its pretty common but i figured id throw it out there.

when he was talking about azures he said that you can cut off the rizomorphs and some cardboard ande make sammiches weee.. i never thought of that before its a pretty neat trick. what would happen if one tried this with an amanita and tried to introduce it under a pine?

Hard to say. The technique described is quick and easy for saprophytes, but mycorrhizal fungi probably don't transplant quite as easily. On the other hand, I don't know of anybody who's tried it, so it's probably worth a shot.

Happy mushrooming!
