casing pulling away
    #4017279 - 04/05/05 12:59 PM (19 years, 9 months ago)

So my casing is knotting, seriously like 200 of them over my casing, and it's pulling away from the sides like usual. This is about my 5th casing and they have pulled away from the sides... I DO undertsand WHY they pull away, but is it better to avoid pulling away. I figure more misting would keep the casing more moist and cause less pulling. For now I'm gonna take Agar's great tip of filling in the space around the sides (thanks man!)

Yep, a great tip indeed! Fill it in and give the filled in casing material a nice moistening. Don't mist the knots!!!

ok, I think I'll moisten the filling before I fill, because it's difficult to only mist a tiny strip of area.

WHen this happens . I just take my spray bottle and Spray along the sides. Were it has come away from the sides , Couple good sprays and you should be good to go . dont over spray,. you dont want a whole of water standing the bottom.GL

The myc also eats some of the substrate causing shrinkage.Don't over water thinking you will stop shirnkage. agar's suggestion is the best fix for this. GL
