Minimize dust?
    #4017104 - 04/05/05 12:24 PM (19 years, 16 days ago)

I hate dust, and my room is incredibly dusty. Is there any way to minimize dust buildup? I realize that just plain dusting helps, but I'm looking for a step BEFORE dusting, to strike the dust at the source. Do air purifiers work? Like that Ionic Breeze thing? Or would that just not make a difference.

ANYthing one can do to make a room less dusty?

Dust is like 99% dead skin cells from your own body. Just spend more time outside and then your room won't get dusty.

Or you can just hire a maid.

yeah and I hear if when you shower you scrub your skin thouroughly and then rub vigorously with a towel afterwards that will take most of the dead skin cells off.. also improves circulation!

What about that ionic breeze thing? That you just pull out and wipe off. Instead of having to buy filters.

ah yes those look pretty efficient but I've never experienced one myself.. seems like a good idea... what with never having to replace a filter and all. I trust and am comfortable with the hepa filters down to 99.7 microns or whatever it is.. so I am a little wary about this foreign technology. But if it works.. it works.

Ionic breezes in my opinion leave more dust...unfortunately. Although it cleans the air, it ionizes the particles such that they stick to EVERYTHING. Imagine static cling from your clothes being in the air.

Minimize dust by not smoking in your room (right..), spend more time outside (already mentioned), and just the dreaded task of cleaning.

If you do decide to get one of these ionic breeze purifiers, DO NOT purchase one from sharper image. I've had two and they both fucking broke within 3 month's time. And yes, I follow the directions in the manual and clean them properly. If you can find a great long lasting air purifier like this then I would go for it

Lol, I really wasn't planning on getting one from Sharper Image. All their shit looks cheap as hell.

dude, there's this thing from sharper image that supposedly "powers through smoke"

smoking some bud inside wouldn't be a hassel then.  :stoned:

Annnnnnd I had a light saber and my friend was there and I said "you look like an indian" and he said "you look like satan" and he found a stick and a rock and he named the rock ooga booga and he named the stick Stick and we both thought that was pretty funny. We got eaten alive by mosquitos but didn't notice til the next day. I stepped on some glass while wading in the swamp and cut my foot open, didn't bother me til the next day either....yeah it was a good time, ended the night by buying some liquor for minors and drinking nips and going to he diner and eating chicken fingers, and then I went home and went to bed.
