    #4015615 - 04/05/05 01:29 AM (19 years, 16 days ago)

ok say if i had 100 spawn bags.. I was thinking of doing liquid culture injections into them.. and i was thinking , can you add h202 in the substrate and cook it?

Hydrogen peroxide, upon contact with heat, will usually decompose into water and oxygen.

would an alternative be to cut down water content and then inject an h202 solution after cooking?

Yea you could do that. Wait until the substrate is fully cool, then inject.

What would be the point? The grain would break the peroxide down as well as the heat...

just looking for further early protection from contams.

could you elaborate on the grain breaking down the h202?

Things such as grain (living before you PC it) produce peroxidase which breaks it down...just like other living organisims such as mold or fungi.
