thin stems and small caps HELP!

my mushies are groing very well they are about 6-10 inches tall but have very small caps and thin stems. im going to try to change my light cycles so they have 15 dark and 9 hrs light... any suggestions as to what i might do further to encourage girth growth

If i were you ID CALM DOWN ON THE LIGHT ON TIME And what substrate are you using and how thick is the casing?

the casing is 50 50 plus (verm peat lime and oystershell) about 3/4 inch thick

I believe he meant how thick is the substrate (and you didnt answer what it is)...although I dont think this is your problem, since your mushrooms are plenty tall. CO2 may be an issue, and the darkness will help (lower temps too if theyre high)...but soem chicks are tall and skinny, some are short and fat. Its just genetics..

My first guess would be too high of a CO2 concentration (common problem with new growers). Fanning 4-6 times a day with a light misting after each fanning should help. Fanning duration need only be 20-30sec. GL

we have a pump timed to swap the oxygen every 30mins for 30mins, so i dont think CO2 would pose much problem. But hey, this is my first batch ^_^

80 degrees...and light being on too much....will cause taller thinner shrooms.

I've also seen a too dim a light do the same thing causing a stretching look to them.
