Heat Bomb?
    #4013311 - 04/04/05 04:16 PM (18 years, 11 months ago)

I just put a heat bomb into my incubation chamber. I used a 50 watt submersable aquarium heater in about a 1-1.5 qt. plastic jar full of water. I have it on the hottest setting and it's been in there for about 30min. It only got the temp up to about 77. Will it keep rising or did i do something wrong?

All i need for a heat bomb is a jar of water and a submersable heater right?

Turn that bitch down and wait 4-5 hours, come backa dn check it....you're gonna heat that water too hot, just my .o2

Yah thats all you need. but IMO heatbombs suck I tried it and it didnt even get the jars warm it just made it really humid. oh yah just a little piece of advice NEVER EVER use a heatingpad or something similar cause thats what ive been using and my jars stalled at 80% cause the damn heating pad dryed the bottoms out. oh well you learn from your mistakes. :frown:

Is it one of those with a temperature adjustment knob on the top? If so, turn it up, take the knob off and put it back on to the lowest settings. Same way you make crack lighters. mmmmmm.. crack.
