King Arthur and the Knights of the Round
    #4012065 - 04/04/05 11:23 AM (11 years, 7 months ago)

Does anyone other than me remember this cartoon? Merlin opens a portal in 1990's America that sucks Arthur King, the quarterback of a high school football team called the Knights, back to medieval times along with the rest of his teammates, and they all become the knights of the round?

I wish I could find that.

Man, it was awesome - each of them had a shield with a different animal on it, and they could make the shield glow with energy and then the animal would jump OUT of the shield and materialize and kick ASS. Arthur had a dragon, someone else had a ram, lots of cool shit like that. It was awesome.

And this young high school Arthur King dude gets to pick up where the real King Arthur (now frozen in a cave) left off - banging Guinevere!

Hell yeah, that show was great.
There are so many cartoons that were completely forgotten. Real quality programs. Cartoon Network could take a cue from the 80s.

All right, I'm applying for jobs to a bunch of television networks in a clandestine attempt to meet the brain behind Carnivale, so I'll aim for Cartoon Network too and the next thing you know it'll be The Lost Forest of Cartoons every saturday hosted by yours truly.  Gargoyles>Knights of the Round would be a definite pairing.

Wasn't that called Visionaries(?)
They had like holographic animals on their chests that they could turn into and holographic staffs that could do crazy magic.

Or am I out to lunch

That mighta been something else but the one I'm thinking of was definitely animals on shields and definitely based on the knights of the round table, Lancelot and all.

Hell yeah, that cartoon was great. I only have very vague memories of it, but as far as I can remember, it rocked!
Mr. Ben was another classic...

Gargoyles was an incredibly well done show.. until they lost focus and ended the series.

No way they could beatThe Darkling Lords and The Spectral Knights.... [Re: OneMoreRobot3021]

And Merklynn was WAY more wizardical then Merlin.

Merlin was all flash, no substance. He couldn't out magic Merklynn on the most magical day of his life if he had an electrified magic machine.
