And im already so over it on the tellie... Ive heard that he was a champion for the poor too many times. I mean how can someone who lived in a small state that happens to be one of the richest in europe and who annually doubles its wealth can say that they gave a shit about the thousands of starving children around the world - christian or otherwise - is beyond me...

Where is the contradiction between wealthy and being an advocate for the poor?

They arent just wealthy my friend, they have an obscene amount of money that they hoard to themselves and then have the temerity to bleat on about their good works and helping the poor and the like. Have you ever been to the Vatican? I have never seen so much gold in my life and to be honest it made me feel nauseous.
Of course they do give money to the poor etc but they should be more honest "Yeah we give a little but to be honest we could give a whole lot more, more than you would believe and yeah it would do alot of good but the thing is we are greedy fucks who are so far removed from any true spirituality that its not even funny and we are going to keep pretty much all of our obscene wealth to ourselves...."
Anyway if you are Catholic you have my sympathy at this time.
It's also a shame the Pope has died.

The Roman Catholic Church is an institution. All institutions have problems. The Church actually does quite a lot to feed the hungry, care for the sick and educate the children around the world. They probably do more than any other single organization. That doesn't mean that they can wave a magic wand and eliminate the world's ills, even if they sold the Vatican and every priceless work of art in it.
The Vatican has many gifts of art and treasure that people have given to it over the years. People come from all over the world to visit it and see those things, and they make money of off that. That money is used for good purposes. It is not like they are buying crack, fast cars and high class hookers with all the money.
The Pope was a good man. I think that he should have let women in the priesthood and let all priests marry. He was pretty conservative on issues like that. But he was pure. His intentions and his heart were always in the right place. He did a lot for the church and will be remembered fondly by Christians and non Christians alike.

Other than labeling a whole segment of the world's population as "evil" simply because they do something different in the bedroom, other than the cover-up of the priestly pedophelia, other than a massive disinformation campaign regarding the efficacy of condoms in the AIDS epidemic areas of africa... yeah, the pope was... just another bigoted old man with too much power.

The pope is the beacon of ignorance for millions. Let us bow our heads and pray that his tomb is graverobbed and his corpse fornicated.

who cares... I read the obituaries and about people that have died on a daily basis... wtf should the pope be any different?
He suffered just like the rest of us... with god's help or not.

i am glad that he has finlay went away...he he did nothing good for the world...
-------------------- "Six words: drop out, turn on, then come back and tune it in -and then drop out again, and turn on, and tune it back in-it's a rhythm- most of us think God made this universe in nature-subject object-predicate sentences-turn on, tune in, drop out- period, end of paragraph. Turn the page- it's all a rhythm- it's all a beat. You turn on, you find it inside, and then you have to come back (since you can't stay high all the time) and you have to build a better model. But don't get caught - don't get hooked - don't get attracted by the thing you're building, cause... you gotta drop out again. It's a cycle. Turn on, tune in, drop out. Keep it going, keep it going- the nervous system works that way. gotta keep it flowing- keep it flowing.

I will tell you what bothers me about this thread, people that are doing nothing but trying to rag on other peoples beliefs indirectly. I am not religious, but I am not going to tell someone that I want the popes grave to be robbed and his corpse fornicated. If you were truely educated and used logic in your thought process you would see that your perception of who the Pope was, has no more proof than anyone elses. You might have evidence suggesting he was a bad guy, they might have evidence suggesting he was a good guy, neither side can be proven. My point is, you claim to be college educated yet you dont show signs of logic in your arguments, it seems like you are just trying to piss of religious people because you get your kicks that way. That isnt what this forum is about.

Why are liberals hell-bent on portraying everyone in the world as a mindless follower of anyone they disagree with? The pope was against condoms because he thought we would be better off if people tried to establish lasting, sincere sexual relationships. Yet somehow you think this is an absolute travesty.
Im an atheist and I use condoms to fuck any hot slut that comes my way but i still understand his point. I still think that the fact I have to put plastic on my cock so i don't die is not a good thing. Don't you see something wrong with that? Its just not right dude. Its not good.
In a good world I would find someone to have a lasting relationship with, but until then I will use a condom just like the millions of christians and non-christians alike who want to indulge in risky behavior. You guys always gotta blame someone else. Its never your fault. If you fuck up, it always has to be because of some rich guy who is better off who indirectly made you do it. Its fucking ridiculous.
If we don't have personal responsibility, we have nothing.

But in comes that darned "reality"again. We do now have STDs which will kill entire populations. Condoms allow sexually polygamous people to "try" to stay alive. His stance against condoms was tantamount to genocide. If people choose to put a piece of plastic on their dicks, what business is that of his anyways. Personally I prefer tinfoil.

He held a position where every single move would be scrutinzed to hell, but at the same time absolutely HAD to follow dogmatic precedents and interpret the bible. The pope was an extreme example of strength, integrity and intelligence. The only thing you have against him is that you don't like his opinions, and his opinions "count."

Thats a ridiculous statement. Do you honestly believe that if the pope said "use condoms" everyone would use them and we would have no more AIDS? If so, you have more faith in the pope than most christians in the world.
He was standing up for what he thinks is right...and he is probably correct. If you disagree and you want to have sex with any dirty piece of ass that comes your way like i do, then use a fucking condom.
I just dont get your argument that everyone is a dumbass who needs to be given a condom and a pat on the back. If this guy has a vision where we arent all a bunch hedonistic robots and we can love and commit, i dont see how that is so horrible. You can make your own decision.
