WASHINGTON -- Internet users are getting closer to a permanent moratorium on some Internet taxes, including Internet access taxes, with a House subcommittee approving a bill extending the ban.
Democrats expressed concerns over the impact on mom-and-pop businesses and whether the bill ensures a tax ban on DSL access.

I don't see how that exactly applies to this post?

Ridiculous. It'll just encourage bloggers to move elsewhere, thus diminishing SF's tax base.

Doubtful, it's not a big enough issue to apply your standard libertarian principles to it really. The people aren't going to move because of this.

Yeah this is to tax the bloggers (the .001%) that turn a livable profits writing their blogs by spending money on bandwidth and possibly travels. These would be business expenses and can be written off on their taxes. Its hardly gonna make anybody move as some people might benifit from it. Its stupid anyways, internet should be free domain from taxes or any government involvement.

Thats the first thing I said when I popped out of my mom's womb. Nobody listened to me and the first thing they did was slap a SSN number on me.

They attatched a number to your name, not you.

I rarely ever use my government name on the internet.
