trying to save my possibly contaminated casing, (reptile bedding; crushed walnut shells)
    #4009526 - 04/03/05 06:24 PM (19 years, 9 months ago)

i sprayed h2o2 onto the top and the cobweb mold* seems to be digressing.
the darker area which i assumed to be either black mold or spore stains had spread a little bit since yesterday, but i am also assuming that it may be becuase i hadnt picked any of the shrooms that were ready for picking. when i sprayed the h2o2, the darker area lightened slighty to more of a purple tone. here is a photo of what it looked like before i sprayed it. i'm a first timer and i want to save it if possible. help is much needed!

Here, I'll refer you to the other thread you made on this same topic:

That casing looks seriously nasty, just start over is my advice. (And don't go with reptile bedding/walnut shells for a casing layer!)
