i have the same canning pot that you have. i do six at a time for 1 1/2 hours. the bans are tighten and then turned a 1/4 turn loose. the first time i used it i fucked up because i took them out 1/2 hour after they were done. now i have learned to let them sit overnight. is that what you have been doing??
also, i use packing tape to cover up the holes and fill the water to just 2 inches above the bottom of the cans. also, if your pot came w/ an insert like mine did, do you let it sit on the bottom or hang it off the sides and then boil??(that's what i do) hope this helps you

This isn't relevant but maybe. When I boiled some jars i had them like 1/2 way scrwed on. When done i tightened all the lids right away and let them cool overnight on the counter. I burnt the fuck out of my hand but it was all worth it cuz now they are only 5 days into colonization and like 25%. no contams yet knock on wood! I guess it all depends on how clean the air is around where you live or maybe you have to live up to the all mighty mushroom test! oh well gluck and later
