Tighten the lids? or leave loose...

I have finished pressure cooking 4 pint jars and have another 4 ready to be cooked. Can I allow my jars to cool outside the pc? If so should I tighten the lids for cooling?

Better to leave them cool in the P. cooker. Try this if you like....my little method I use all the time:
If you think of a scale 1-5, 1 being the loosest(quarter turn and the lid will fall off), 5 being the tightest(quarter turn and the glass will break). P.cook at 4. Then let everything cool in side the p. cooker overnight(or at least 10hr.). Then when your ready to take them out, tighten them to 5, and start your innocu. from there. After the mycl. takes hold you can start to loosen them very little. At 75% of mycl. take-over you can loosen the lids to 3-4...4 better for cont. reasons.
