I am having a problem. After pinning, 3 days later the caps on a few mushrooms have peeled up and you can see the ridges on the underside of the mushroom. If necessary i can post pictures to aid in solving this problem. Also, is 63-68 too cold for the mushrooms? I have seen 75 as what the high is , what is the low?
Thank you

there is no low, low temps just delay growth. what you saw was probably the viel pulling away, which is normal.... give em a day and then pull them

Okay, I am no pro, but I will give this a try. Please correct me if I am wrong.
The veil has broken on your mushrooms and they have matured more. That's all that this sounds like..? This is not a problem but you may want to pick them soon.
As for your temperature question. I would not suggest you go any lower than this. 68 is okay, around 70 to 72 would be a bit better though. 63 is pretty cold, try to keep them out of that temp. range.
Again, anyone please correct me, I am still learning.

Can I make a suggestion to you? May be the reason you can?t find the answer, is because people don?t name their post correctly. If you change the name of your post to something that represents your problem, it could help someone in the future with your same problem. You can explain you didn?t find anything in the forum inside the post
Your problem is not you couldn?t find anything in the site. Your problem is that caps on your mushrooms have peeled up.
take care

Thank you for your responses, the mushrooms are still much too small to pick, and the cap has basically flipped inside out. There were no spores released. It is still too early to pick the mushrooms because most of the other ones are maturing okay, could these possibly be a weird abort?

Ummm....no, i would say those are done. These arent plants that just keep growing until you pick them. They are FRUITS that rot if you leave them on the branch too long. Buuuuut. go ahead and ignore the advice you asked for.

you just got tiny shrooms. So did I, but this is because my substrate layer in my casing wasn't deep enough. Nothing wrong with tiny shrooms, but I know that we all want big monster shrooms...
It sounds like it is ready to pick. Just pick it before it rots and be happy with it.
Are you using cakes or casings?

On cakes. Is it okay to pick off the small ones while letting the other ones mature? I thuoght you had to remove a whole flush at once?

You can pick off whatever ones you want. Aborts as they abort and mushrooms as they tear the veils, should be removed...
