I am in So Cal, lookin for friends.

I am recently in to mycology, I started my first pf-jars a few days ago ( disastrous ) So instead of doing the heinous act of trying to get someone to ship me a spore syringe, or print.
I am looking for friends in the area, I am currently residing in long beach, but I frequent down to San Diego. I would like to go on a mush hunt. Not an official 'shroomery' mush hunt, just a few of us ( assuming that A) there is anyone in the area and B) any one is interested.) head to a location, possibly a cow field, or a wooded area, see what we can see, and then try and identify what we have found.

well any one in the area lemme know.

You gotta head north my friend, not south. I'm here in SoCal. Its a coastal desert from santa barbera to SD. Not a good place for wild boomers. Go to the bay area 5 hours north to mush hunt.

If you happen to figure out where they are at I'd be interested in knowing (definetely PM me. I'd compensate for a good location) but I think your looking for a needle in a haystack around here. Mushies like humidity and mild temperatures and neither are to be found in SoCal. Cow fields don't equal mushies. I'm not saying its impossible but its gonna be hard. Your more likely to find some on the street, at a show (moe. is gonna be in SD or ventura in 2 weeks. Awesome band and if you search the crowd somebody should have tabs or mush for sale. Also you might find some at a Cubensis show, a grateful dead tribute band, they play around here in santa monica and newport beach. I plan on hitting up a santa monica show tomarrow [on sun. night] for $5 in fact-never seen them before but I hope it'll be fun and that they will be good!) or just grow your own. Either way you'll be flying in a shorter amount of time than making the search for wild booms in SoCal. I've looked around for instances of people finding them in the area and have had no luck. Further reseach has led me to believe its not likely.

But best luck to you, man. I just don't want you to have high hopes...
