Hi all,
After two days of raiin some strated to pop out here where i live, they grew from horse dung, print color is purple/black or brown, i can't tell, so what are they ?
I must add i was trying an outdoor batch of P.Cubensis (colombian strain) but not in that site, that site was used by my wife, we are trying to see who can grow first outdoors, you aren't going to tell me she won, aren't you ?
The spore print,
Peace and thanks in advance,
MAIA

Those are beautiful specimens of a Psilocybe coprophila, it is inactive. Pretty mushrooms though :) Keep checking that field and I promise you'll find some Pan subbs, maybe even a sparse cube or 2 ?

Thanks LK! I'll keep searching my field. Oh! You may add the photos to the shroomery future database if you want.
BTW, i read some guides (http://www.geocities.com/HotSprings/5257/identify.html)saying P.coprophila is a weak halucinogenic thus active, are you sure it's inactive ?

All reports of them being active are false, it used to be a quite common misconception in older guides.

Second species(at least in 1st and 2nd pic) in the new pics resemble some drying, beat up pan subbs, but the pic if them on the table makes me wonder. :) Be sure to take spore prints of those guys.
Keep looking for some specimens in better shape, you're getting closer.
Peace out,

First species (in new pictures) is a Coprinus. Second species looks like some rather old & funky Stropharia semiglobata.

I'll go with woodsman on those first mushrooms, definitely a type of coprinus. The second species however, looks to be a Panaeolus of some type, probably subbalteatus. That stem is way to red to be psilocybe, and I think I can see that mottled(spotted) look in the gills, and of course it appears to be lacking the veil that semiblobata has. I wouldn't eat those subbs though, they are weak enough as it is, why eat less than perfect specimens :)

Here are the second species spore prints, they are brown as you see, does it help to identify?

Those are not galerinas! More likely an inactive sloppy Panaeolus species.

I've found some more but i think they are P. Sphrinctus var. campanalatus(spp!) or perhaps P. Antillarum, at least it's what has been growing at my lawn, or it could be other species, it's a pan. for sure.

i mean Paneolus campanulatus without clean margins. They look just like the ones with the appendiculate margin on the photos above. the last ones. Psyathrella gracilis has a clear to the eye stirations before it is too dry

What a fascinating thread! I am a newbie here and still working my way thru reading all the posts in the archives, but what relation does the spore print have towards determination of a magic mushroom? On the great ones page ( thank you great one :0) he mentions that most magic mushrooms stems turn blue upon bruising.... Is that not a very good way to know???
