Primordia or Mold? !!!
    #4006913 - 04/03/05 12:34 AM (11 years, 11 months ago)

I don't know what this is, but it's getting bigger quick! It was just a little spot, but now what used to be mycelium that had grown up the inside of the bag has gotten new texture on it!

Sh!t. Looking at the pictures, it's mold. So what do I do about it!?!?! I'm going out of town next week! BTW, this is a kit from mycobag.com, it is lion's mane. It's almost ready to fruit, too.

Looks like green mold...it is white before it goes green and spreads in bubbles like that. How long has this bag been colonizing?

Hmm, it looked fine to me when I saw it...but checked again...hmm maybe trich myc..it could just be mycelium bodies too..how long did that take to grow? If quick...that is bad...if that took a while to form then maybe your okay.

I dont know though..I keep looking over and over again and it looks more like green everytime...I dont know though..

well, the bag took about 9 weeks to colonize thus far, and the bottom corner isn't colonized. That spot cropped up quickly. I'll check it again tonight!

Thats a mushroom, but its developing abnormally in the confines of the bag. The little lumps are the starts of the lions mane spines and not mold. It needs to be opened to the fresh air for any chance of normal development (which it may already be too late). I'd probably remove the malformed mushroom now and work on a second better flush.

If you can't attend to it, put it in the fridge until you get back.
