Hello, great site you all got here.

http://slam3.com/forums/uploads/post-29-1112489843.jpg
Found in michigan, in a forest about 25 feet from a pond. surrounding area was quite marshy. temp's been around 50-60 the past week. I looked in a couple books and was unable to identify it, i'm guessing probably because this is a dried shroom and perhaps the color/size changed in the drying process.

I'm not sure if the color is accurate in the photo, but they where a dark reddish brown. Fairly small as well, varied from 5-6mm to a couple inch's in diamater. They where found on a dead stump, near the ground, the big cluster was actually found on the ground and not growing out of the tree.

Thanks for any help and let me know if you need any more information.

Maybe part of the gynopolis (sp?) species but just a guess but those mushrooms are too old to be identified accuratley.

So, these are simply too old to be identified? That sparks a question-say you find some active shrooms, but are they in or near the condition of the ones in this thread-are they still active?
