What kinda beer for Chick-can
    #4005273 - 04/02/05 04:43 PM (13 years, 22 days ago)

My mom got me one of those things that lets you cook a chicken with a can of beer inside it.

Anybody have any recommendations on beer that goes good with chicken?

I don't thin you need any special kind. When I did it, you really couldn't even taste the beer. It just made the chicken really tender. I did it on the BBQ, though, so it may be different. I just used whatever can was on hand.

I would say try using a can of GUINNESS or even BEAMISH or MURPHY'S irish stouts! Removal of the Nitrogen charger, plastic ball<!>, is highly recommended.

It's funny but I've had better luck (I don't eat meat but my familly...) with cheap- cheap beer. Olde English is a fine beer for this job. Or old mil.

there are a few microbreweries that can their beer, so you can get a much better product than from BMC, bud miller coors. You also don't have to use beer, you could a can of cola or fruit juice.

I've got one of those beer-can-chicken rack thingies. The kind of beer you use doesn't really matter. Just drink half the beer, then put the can in the rack.

1. mix 3 parts brown sugar, 1 part salt, 1 part black pepper, 1 part paprika, 1/3 part garlic powder, 1/3 part onion powder

2. rub this mix all over the chicken, inside and out.

3. in a foil lined pan, place chicken onto beer-can-rack, and plug the neck hole with a potato or onion(this helps keep the steam inside)

4. bake at 350F till done. (you might have to lay some foil over chicken if it starts to get too brown before it's done.

this is the best damn chicken you'll ever eat!
