I AM IMPRESSED WITH LIQUID CULTURE

4 days ago I made a dextrose and water culture, I thought there wasnt any signs of growth, I read the post about not being impressed with this, this morning I gave the jars a little shake and what fell into the water from the surface? It was little cottony looking chunks of mycelium. Liquid cultures do work and I reccomend them for a syringe expansion, I'm turning 1cc of spore solution into 1cup of liquid culture

Funny I didn't read it like that at all. Even your post just complained about the picture quality

A few near invisible spores in 1 ml of solution, turn into a myc mass like this in an optimal LC. That is like turning $0.02 cents into a million dollars. Ya just cannot beat that return.

And my post wasnt of the picture quality, but the fact that somone posted a picture, and NO content..not telling us what he did or what was wrong, or any information...like "here look at my picture'...ummmm ok, now what?
But there was much talk of liquid cultures being just fine, if you do it right..and its pretty hard to really screw up...

I just read the 'Microwave Karo' post too ... that seems pretty straight-forward. I've not tried liquid myc before

Personally, I wouldn't go with a microwave tek of any kind. JMHO! No harm intended with my words. Microwaves are filthy. Not to mention if you use a microwave for sterilization, it will have to be a microwavable container and not a jar with a metal lid. They're so easy to do. I can't understand why anybody wouldn't love LC's. Like Agar said, there like turning a couple pennies into a million of bucks. The return is unmatchable. I wish I could make money return profits this easy!!!

hotnutz - How do you go about it? What type sugar, amounts, jar, length of pressure cooking? I'm thinking of putting the hole in the lid at the edge so that I can tilt the jar to suck up the solution. Peace Buzz

Fill a 1qt jar 1/3 of the way up with H20. Add between 2-3 tablespoons of light Karo corn syrup to the H20. Add a couple pieces of broken glass or a couple of marbles to the jar to help in the aid of breaking up of mycelical tissue. Stir the liquid up until the solution turns clear again. Add your FILTERED lid of choice. Put a piece of foil over the filtered lid and pc for 30 minutes @ 15 psi. Let cool and knock up with cloned tissue or 1-2 cc's of multispore syringe.

First jar has a tiny 99.997 hepa filter attached. Found them at a major computer parts surplus store for 0.10 cents each. I wish I would have bought 1,000 of them. Sadly, I didnt. When I decided to & went back to the store, they were all gone .
