That's the topic of Larry King Live tonight, Fri 4/1 9:00pm Eastern time. He invited religious and spiritual leaders as guests for this show to speak on it. Thought some of you may be interested to tune in.

It might be interesting, but not one of these "experts" has a clue. All they "know" is what they have been taught.
I know, but I'm not going to spoil the surprise.

(I think that's the first time I've used the term "bro" in a manner other than to make fun of it.)

I just like seeing the Christian fundamentalists spar with Depak.
Even if they are all wrong, its funny stuff. The Evangelicals get the most worked up and red faced and Depak starts rolling his eyes.
It's like S&P stuff only you get to see the faces and hear the tones of voice.
Maybe I'll hear something I never considered before as well.

NEVERMIND
Looks like the "Breaking News" of the Popes being near death took over the show they had scheduled for tonight.

I'm not a big fan of organized religion, but I have to say the current Pope is a great man- he, along with Reagan and Thatcher, was instrumental in helping bring about the end of the Cold War. Forget about the religious aspect, for that alone he will always be fondly remembered. Btw, it's interesting that all three figures came onto the world stage within a short two-year period. Like it was meant to be.
I don't know why they don't go ahead and have the show anyway. Seems like it would dovetail quite nicely since both topics are about death. Oh well. I will watch some basketball followed by the season finale of Battlestar Galactica. Along with some adult beverages and the requisite 100 mgs of codeine.

From the first 15 minutes I watched of "the breaking news" take over show, it seemed like they wanted to focus on the implications of his death for the Catholics and the church itself. So dying and the great beyond really wasn't their focus. I understand why it took priority. I just really enjoy the shows with religious leaders views versus Depaks. It's like "S&P goes live".
Oh Well!

Have any of these "experts" ever died before? If so I would listen.

The ones who believe in reincarnation would most likely say they have.

I guess the great mystery of death is that no one will ever know why anyone cares so much about the Pope's death.
Peace.

Hue, at best you might hear a different perspective on a possibility to consider. But that's not why the show would've been interesting/amusing to watch.
When King has these shows, he usually has about 5 different Christian Leaders, A Jewish and Muslim Leader and then Depak to represent I guess a mix of Budhist/Hindu Wholistic type Sprituality.
What they have are philosophical debates over specific topics. Its just like S&P. No one here has a coin on how it is but we come enjoying the dynamism of all the diverse views. It's S&P live.
They had one with the topic of Global Peace with a focus on the middle east that was funny to watch.
Depak is carrying on that the path to peace is peace itself. Then a hot head Christian guy chimes in saying, "The path to peace is war!" He carried on about how we have to fight the evil in the world with guns and tanks. Then another Christian dude is in his own little world carrying on about accepting Jesus into your heart being the way to peace. All the while the Jewish and Muslim leaders were freaking out that they were in the same room sitting next to each other. They said, This would Never happen in our countries. You all should appreciate America saying that such an event could happen here.
Somewhere in the beginning of the Pope replacement cover story, they said that there are close to 1 billion Catholics in the world. If those are their stats, it's a no wonder why they switched topics with his death being imminent.
What is a wonder is how almost one of eight people are Catholics I also wonder how many of them were just baptized into the faith by their parents but actually don't practice or go to church.
