Urgent Questions

Hello All,
I know a guy who is trying to cultivate some shrooms inside one quart jars. He has enjoyed great sucess growing mycelium all over his brown rice growing medium, but now he does not know what to do. The jars have been full of mycelium for about 2 weeks now and no pinning has occured. He has not applied any casing and he does not know if he needs to. Any and all sugestions will be greatly appreciated (especially the timely ones...)

crumble what and case with what? My friend has never done this before and casing was not covered in the directins that he used to start with.

Go to the Grow/Find section of this site and, click casing. There are many different ways one can achieve this, this covers many of them.

I havent seen any wide mouth quart jars where would I get those? Were they wide mouth?

you can get Ball one quart wide-mouth jars from walmart
about 7 or 8 dollars a case

Food Lion had them today when I was there, but I didn't check the price. I've found the best selection of jars to be in grocery stores in my area.

Check closeout stores in your area such as Big Lots or Odd Lots. Whereas the grocery store usually has half pint and pint jars for 8$ a dozen, the closeout store usually has them for 3$ a dozen.
