JUST WANTED TO LET EVERYONE KNOW MY EXPERIANCE WITH THE NEW EZ GROW HOMESTEAD KIT
THE KIT INCLUDES 2 PRE STERILIZED RYE BAGS
A BAG OFCOMPOST AND A SPORE SAMPLE ON Q TIP
I HAVE USED THREE KITS SO FAR AND MY RESULTS ARE AS FOLLOWS
FIRST KIT
RYE BAG COLONIZED IN A BOUT THREE WEEKS
MIXED WITH COMPOST
EVERYTHING WAS LOOKING GOOD UNTIL GREEN MOLD TOOK OVER
THIS WAS MY FAULT AS MY FRIENDS CAT LAID ON CONTAINER AND DROPPED TONS OF HAIR INTO IT
SECOND KIT
I TOOK MORE PRECAUTIONS FOR STERILITY
RYE BAG COMPLETTLY COLONIZED IN 15 DAYS
MIXED WITH COMPOST AND GOT ONE FLUSH
OF APPROXIMATLY 25G DRY WEIGHT
THAN ONCE AGAIN BECAUSE OF MY STUPIDITY
GREEN MOLD TOOK OVER WHEN I TRIED TO REHYDRATE MIX
THIRD KIT
RYE BAG COMPLETLEY COLONIZED IN UNDER 10 DAY
MIXED WITH COMPOST AND IM WAITING FOR THE FIRST FLUSH
THERE IS NO DOUBT IN MY MIND THAT I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN
AT LEAST THREE FLUSHES BETWEEN THE FIRST TWO KITS
IF ID JUST LET THEM ALONE
I WOULD RECCOMEND THIS KIT TO NEWBIES BECAUSE IT REALLY IS EASY
ALMOST TOO EASY
JUST FOLLOW DIRECTIONS AND LEAVE KIT ALONE
THIS KIT WOULD DEFINALTY LET NEWBIES KNOW IF THE ENVIROMENT IS A STERILE ONE
HOWEVER ONCE YOU HAVE MASTERED THIS KIT I FEEL THAT THE PF TEK WOULD BE THE WAY TO GO

Well it doesnt sound like its a great kit for newbies...i mean one out of three attempts isnt that great and I dont know how much that kit costs but using the PF Tek is by FAR the best way for newbies to go as far as ease and price, My friend has been using the PF Tek for months now and only lost one jar to contams. Once you've got the cakes mastered its on to casings and then I'd consider using compost or dung but not until you've got it down.

I agree with Lincoln...
Not too long ago I was a newbie, and the PF method as far as i'm concerned was the way to go. With the Hongus Tek leading the way for casing.
But at least you got some mushrooms. I havn't lost a jar yet though so I would endorse that method. As far as an endorsement from abudiwa would get you.
By the way, turn that caps lock off... I had to read 1/2 a bit ago and 1/2 now. I was getting a headache and turning cross-eyed.

THE KIT WOULD HAVE WORKED MUCH BETTER IF IT WASNT FOR MY MESSING WITH IT
THE RASON WHY I THINK ITS GOOD IS BECAUSE IT WILL LET YOU KNOW IF YOU HAVE A STERILE ENVIROMENT
BEFORE SPENDING HOURS PUTTING TOGETHER PF JARS
HOWEVER I DEFINATLY AGREE THAT ONCE YOU HAVE
MASTERED STERILIZATION TECHNIQUES THE PF TEK IS THE WAY TO GO

Doing the PF tek or any other tek will let you know if you have a sterile environment as well. And please dont use caps on your next post it hurts the shroomerites sensitive eyes.

I understand that it will let you know if you have a sterile enviroment but so will doing cakes and for what you spent on that kit you could have made 20 or more cakes and i figure that you have a better chance of success with 20 cakes rathen then 3 of what you did, i'm not saying that its bad I'm just saying that its not something for beginners

its fuckin a hundred and twenty bucks, the only reason i got it is because the advertisement mislead me into thinkin it would be literally "a couple of weeks" to grow. but acually, it takes the same amount of time any jar or grow bag would take to colonize, and thats a while... also the jar method is much...MUCH, cheaper, i wont ever by another kit...and i got one from mushroom magic, 80 bucks,but it kinda sucks too becuse it must stay warm but the heater doesnt work so...its kinda wierd, its basically liek the jar method but in a ten gallon aquarium, so its gunna take a while also to colonize all that...FUCK KITS
