PINNING!..... on the sides

I have 6 casings sitting in my martha now and 3 of them are pinning from the sides even though they are in aluminum trays with light coming only from above. I don't understand why and what to do to prevent this.

Light reflects off of the aluminum?

First - make casing cover a bit thicker around the tray edges - to start. If casing begins to pull away from container sides, add casing cover mixture - to fill any void.

I can see where you're going with that but I'm still a bit skeptical on that because the light is very dim and directly above... theoretically it should pin on top if the light is there seeing that refection isn't as strong as direct light. And I noticed that even though the aluminum is reflective, it's not very. It reflects some light but it's not like shiny metal, it's quite dull. Would there be any other reason like water dripping down the sides of the casing on the inside?

Thanks agar. I thought about that but wasn't sure. As for the once already in the process of pinning... let them go? Or should I lay down casing around the areas that pulled away just not where the pins are? Damn Agar, you've been a real help today... this is #2 (calls for another good rating)

Its the light geting into the sides. They dont pin from where the lights the strongest, they pin ANYWHERE they get light. That tells them they're above grown.
Doesnt really matter in the end though. I like side pinning myself.

if they pin on the side (I have some pretty big fruits coming off the sides) should I just fill in the space on the sides and wait for it to pin on top, or will it not pin on top? (that would suck)

If they pin on the sides, will they pin on the top later?
