Malt dextrose plz help

Ok i went to my local home beer brew shop. The had Light malt as he called it. He said it has sugar in it. Is this the same as light malt dextrose. I was unsure so i also bought dextrose(corn sugar) can i use these. I am try to make some liquid inocculations. Thanks.


PS bout how much of each would i use?

Oh and i just bought a PC but it only has a 10psi setting : ( so how long should i doo my liquid cultres in it if its only 10 psi. and how long for my BRF/Verm Spawn bags....The lame box lied to me

Light dry malt is one thing, dextrose is another thing (corn sugar).

PC 1/3rd longer.

Why did you buy a 10 psi...PC? :confused:
Should have tried harder to find one that goes to 20 psi.

the box said it went to 15 instead though that was the next model up it just wasn't clear : (

so whichh should i use for my LC? thanks btw agar

I would RETURN that 10 psi PC & get next model up.
You will be FAR BETTER OFF.

I use both dextrose & light dry malt mixed in 50/50 combo.

oh ok a 50/50 combo thanks so much

i know i could do a search but i understand you are really good so do you do like iteaspoon for every 1/2 cup of wateR?

Level tablespoon of each to quart of water. Simmer to meld. PC 20 minutes. Cool, decant & strain through double coffee filters to remove any gunk.

Fill two (2) quart jars one half (1/2 = 50%) full. PC both again for 20 minutes. :thumbup:

ok after creating a couple of these i see the malt forming at the bottom. SO decanting is necessary. How do i decant?

i know you decant some different red wines but i have no idera how the process is scomplished?

Agar when your making your LC with this process do you ever get little malt balls floating?
