**UPDATED WITH PICS** Second Go at Growing! Just a couple of questions!

Ok this is my second attempt at growing as last time the jars half grew mycelium then completely stopped.
Now we have indentified some problems such as needle to small on syringe! (It was a mini doctors needle only thing i could get, I now have a 16 gauge needle) and not enough spores put into the water which as sucked up into the syringe.
Now I just have a couple questions.
1) I have got a lot more spore prints this time and i am using the method of scraping the spore prints into sterilized water (le a shot glass) Should I scrape lots of spores into the water Could it hurt or could I ever have too many spores?
2) I have a friend who is also trying to grow...He is using the jar method of growing except instead of using jars hes using gladware plastic containers and jsut injecting straight into the verm/brf mix. Would this work and would it be worth while doing.
and last
3) I have been told before once i have transferred the jars to the incubator to change the foil on top to coffee filters and flipping them. Is this also worth doing or do i do it a couple of weeks into the mycelium process.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks everyone. I know its long but hey..

1)can't have too many spores, but until you're self-sufficient, i wouldn't be wasteful w/ them. (however little you scrape will be fine)
2) click
3) after inoculation, put some filters on top. flipping the jar will create a vaccum pulling in air. this makes it col. faster, but it also would draw in unwanted contams. so, if you're going to do it, don't do it too early. it would be difficult for me to put it in terms of time, for there are a lot of variables.
have fun

Could you please explain how turning over a jar creates a vacuum?

I found jars at k-mart over here but they were out of stock. Someone else pointed out that they can be found at: http://www.cospak.com.au and are almost identical to the jars used in the PF-Tek, tapered sides, 200mL - only you need to buy a minimum case of 60. I just opted for drinking glasses instead. 12 glasses and foil: AU$5.99

I used Gladware 1/2 pint containers with BRF and the microwave tek and everything worked out fine.
The containers held up and i've had no contams. For pics of the containers I used go here:

Doesnt create a vaccum btw...
Co2 is heavier than air, Yes, myc. does benefit from it BUT not in high concentrated amount, Flipping the jar lets the Co2 fall to the bottom and exit through the holes.
Not trying to be an asshole but maybe you'd pass on good info...What you passed on...
Quote:
flipping the jar will create a vaccum pulling in air. this makes it col. faster, but it also would draw in unwanted contams.
And it wouldn't "draw" in contams...The main reason people get comtams is because they do it too early and water condenses and "falls" on the dry verm. and the water that drips out of the verm. out of the lids of your jars leaves like a "bridge" for contams.....I use polyfil so i'm really not worried about air bring-ing in contams. b/c they act as a filter, just worried about the water mainly...
Just trying to clear shit up

-Gnostic is right in everything he just said.
The vaccum i belive we are talking about is what happens when the substrate sildes to the top of the filped jar. This pushes the air that was in the top of the jar mostly into the bottom(which is now the top of the fliped jar) and partly out of the holes. After sitting their for a bit the CO2(that was pushed to the bottom of the jar) will fall out of the holes in the lid of the jar.
ITs all physics but what we are talking about is not a vaccum.
