I've been looking into growing Panaeolus cyanescens after spending time with Psilocybe cubensis. What I am wondering is, is there a differance in cultivation?

It's not different at all. It's basically the same thing. WBS, compost/straw, case, fruit

It's not as hard as it seems. I was pretty rough/unsanitary with my and everything is still doing good after 3 flushes. My pinsets aren't that great but it was my first time.

as i said, it's totally different ballgame. Soopa is misleading. it requires much more knowledge than that of BRF.

Yahh, and to speed up colonizing times, consider adding a small amount of manure to your jars of grain.
Does wonders, have pics if you need to see.

Just make sure you use poo. I didn't for one of my casings and the mushies only got to about 10% the size of the ones with poo.

If you can do grains, spawn pastuerized compost, and make a casing layer, you can do pan cyans.
Spawned 3/25, pic taken 3/29. 1/2" deep, 1 jar grain, the left one pictured below
More to follow, will start a grow log at some point.

Don't fret though. I had never done WBS(I had done popcorn) or spawn to poo. After the casings with out the poo produced the small mushies, I broke it in two and spawned the casing halves to poo. Everything went fine and now I've got mushies. My ferret even dug through the casing layer on one with now contams. Keep in mind that he steps on his own pee and poo when he uses the litter box. Pan cyans weren't hard at all.

The cat has found pasteurized straw to be quite contam resistent. Dung too, for that matter.

id say use a poo and verm mix. try to keep it loose and fluffy too, you know.
like i said i have no exp. with straw, but it seems like if youre going to use it you should chop it finely enough that the myc shoots right through. might be best to use it in a mix of past. poo and straw.
i must say i have seen many excellent grows using staw alone or in mixes. straw cant be 100 bad. there are rather nice grows with giant straw logs and teks devoted to such use of the material.
