PF-Tek - he sterilised his jars, put them in a glove box, sprayed the #$%@ out of it with lysol, then proceded to open each jar and scrape some spores directly off the print into each, then shook them up and incubated for almost a month for full colonisation (500mL/Pint jars)(I opted to make syringes from my print FYI). Point being he successfully grew almost 1000g from his casings for a first attempt and never layed his hands on a syringe.
No doubt the syringe method is fantastic for beginners, but unless his success was a sheer fluke - i think its safe to say its possible for people in countries where syringes are not available to have success using prints only.
Thats all fine and good but this person didnt say syringes were hard to get. In fact in his last post he said "USING A SPORE SYRINGE" open the jars (obviously has no idea what a glovebox is either) and squirt some in. He's also asking about LEAVING THE LID OFF.
What you did, would be fine...this is NOT what the person is asking about though. They saw an invitro grow and just guessed that someone just put some grain in a jar and squirted spores all over it. Big difference.
Wow sorry too many windows open and must of hit reply on the wrong one!!! Whoops!!!

I'm growing a cubensis grow kit and the mushrooms are too tiny. Some of them have become brown, dark brown headed compared to the others and they stopped growing... Anyway the one that did grow are tiny. About 7 cm in lenght and their caps have opened because I can see that their veil is torn in a way. I thought they should have big caps, not these roun d tiny caps with tiny veils to the sides. How can I make a spore print off these? I'll guess I'll wait a little longer. I think I should spray over them. What do you guys think? There is just one moist papaer towel there and that's it. They all have white fluff on their stems.
Could someone please tell me if glasses, mugs or beer cans can withstand a pressure cooking or boiling bacause I sreiously doubt this. If they do, do you think it would be a good idea to use them, because I think I whon't be able to see the pins when they form...
Anyway, I've got so many aborts. Why do these form? The small mushrooms who didn't even grow their cap well have become blackish in the cap and don't grow anymore.
And also, why isn't it good to harvest them in turns and not all at a time. I think that I can safely remove the aborts now, why whould this not be reccomended. Are latex gloves really to be used one time only? This is what I was talking about. can you see the normal jar with the mushrooms growing from it? Can I use a normal jar like this? http://www.mushmush.nl/?page=home\methods\cultivation_of_psilocybe_cubensis_on_sterilised_rye_grain
I would post pics if I had a camera...
