Pine wood chips for roses
    #3989020 - 03/30/05 04:28 AM (19 years, 21 days ago)

I've had these chips for a few months, and I've just been out to dig the beds for my wood lovers, but there appears to be some sort of mycelium growing on the chips already, they were sealed in bags so this came from the seller... I'm going to give it a go any way, in one bed to experiment... has this ever happen to any one else?? or  perhaps I can expect a nice surprise??? or not... would one mycelium kill the other one?? any thing you know will help, thanks in advance

you'd have to sterilize the wood ships to kill the established mycelium
also, pine isnt well suited to most mushrooms
