late sterilisation/inoculation

I prepared 10 jars to be inoculated, but, due to a problem, I only sterilized them and inoculated them the next day, now it's been 5 days, and still no sign of growing, is this the reason why ? did the substrate get too dry or something ?

Just last week we made up a bunch of jars and "because of some problems" we waited a couple days---not thinking about mold---to sterilize and innoculate. Well, needless to say they got all moldy and we had to start all over. Rule of thumb on that one is: Sterilize the same day you make the jars. Otherwise you'll get mold forming.
Now, in your case the mold probably started to form in those 24 hours between creation and sterilization (however it should have been killled off by sterlizing, but I don't know much about mold once it forms) and that MAY have something to do with the fact that they're not colonizing; but I'm not an expert on that one. Temperature is another factor that will determine what rate tthe mycelium grows at. Give 'em another week at least 70 Fahrenheit and if you have nothing by then, I say start over.
Are you sure your spore syringes are good??

kos- many people do wait several days before innoculation, its called the control jar technique. it lets you verify your sterilization of the substrate was successful. if you have nasites growing in there before you innoc., you know you did not sterilize the jars correctly. when prepared properly, nothing will grow in them within those few days. if youre gettimg mold or anything in there before innoc., check your sterilization b/c its not working.

I think he let his jars sit for a day before sterilizing them.
