We aren't talking about any of that here, and I'll say that I agree with lots of your points. However, it's CERTAINLY not the teachers job to make the parents raise their kids right. It should be their responsibility and right to decide if they want to carry a gun to defend themselves.

I'm not saying let's try it out. Despite what bi0 seems to think, I'm not all gung ho about arming everyone. I'm just saying that the NRA's idea isn't as crazy as it sounds. If there were some responsible adults there who had guns, then they could stop a student going on a rampage, and even the knowledge that such people are there could act as a preventative measure.

how often do these rampages occur? and how often do you think accidents are likely to happen?

answers:

not very often at all - most likely a weird trend that will fade away
&
fairly likely considering all the factors at play (see my other post)

how is this even a solution in your head?

you obviously have never taught in a public school before...

I agree it's not very common, but I'm not so sure I agree with the assessment that it's just a "trend" that will fade away on its own. It seems to have become more common in recent years, and may continue to be a bigger and bigger problem. I agree with unbeliever's assessment that we need to address the root of the problem, but I also don't see anything wrong with protecting against the symptoms as well.

Have teachers use corporal punishment starting in kindergarden. Teach the kids when they screw around in school they're gonna get their ass beat. After 10 or 12 years of a smack to the back of the head they'll learn how to behave. Then they'll wait to join the Post Office before they show up someplace and start shooting.

I was going to say The Sub2,3,4, but I don't think Berenger was in them. Sniper 2 maybe?
