being too cool

someone recently mentioned that Swami hasn't made a thread about someting he was really fascinated in for a long time. (As I remember, whoever said that had a post count of less than 10% of Swami's post count, so I wonder who they are to talk... beside the point though.)
This thread isn't about Swami, it's about being fascinated by stuff. Seems like being overly NOT fascinated with stuff can be yet another way to avoid exposing oneself too much; showing genuine interest in anything leaves you vulnerable.

You never noticed that at the end of everyones posts? It works good!
Seriously, you make a great point in general. Sometimes, I feel very over exposed here and yes, make myself vulnerable and sometimes, I think its not very fair that others aren't showing more of themselves.
You guys remember how this game goes from childhood; You show me yours and I'll show you mine.

showing genuine interest in anything leaves you vulnerable.
As the Michael Jackson case clearly demonstrates.
BTW as this is NOT the Hobbyist forum, even though we sometimes share our favorite activites, what is the fascination with fascination?
By merely coming here to read and post, isn't that itself, an expression of deep interest in the mysteries of life? What is more fascinating than our origin of life or consciousness or love or being?

It was me, my post count is indeed about 10% of Swami's because this is my second registration/name What does that have to do with anything? I've been here long enough. Even a month is too long of a time to concentrate on what is faulty and wrong.
Yes, posting what fascinates you makes you vunrable. But you should be vunrable. Even if you get hurt, it is a good control for your ego not to grow oversized. We should all be constantly put down not to imagine ourselfs as some wisemen that we are not.

We should all be constantly put down not to imagine ourselfs as some wisemen that we are not.
we then should always point out our peers' flaws? and always talk bad about others.?~~~~~ isn't that a way to NOT deal with our own flaws? i think this contradicts what you said about not concentrating on what's faulty and wrong?
it does no good to state the obvious...obviously.

On these forums and in discussions I mean, not in life... We should accept criticism, but not give it to others. How is that possible? Because there will always be someone who will not act like that, and will criticise,so let's take advantage of it at least.

So when one is ignorantly and unawarely carrying out behaviors that are not beneficial for that person, or for others, it is not for us to enlighten them?
Have you ever heard of the difference between constructive critisicm and destructive critisicm? Perhaps you are only referring to destructive critisicm, because the world would become much worse if we were not to comment on the doings of other people to those people. Helping others is what it is all about, my friend.
Peace.

oh, see, you misunderstand Swami's sig. Swami's will at any given time is composed entirely of the will of whoever reads his sig.

People seem to like to hypnotize. Funny how things begin and end. If life could go longer or if it weren't eternal. Then who knows where you'd be or where i came from for that matter.
