Went out today and found these interesting gymnopilus species. Similar to my last ones (http://www.geocities.com/tampabayfinearts/shroomerypics.html) but no veil remnant and I swear it looked like slight greenish blueing but that's very slight if at all. On rotting wood, with a lot of the frillish cap like the big gymn's. Anyways, I'll try and get that monograph soon and hopefully post that. There seems to be 1000's of brand new species each day. <is that an overstatement? who knows for sur>>
After letting this big guy dry out a bit, I definitely confirm the greening (blueing) at the base near the mycelial connection. I am sorry not to have access at home now for I would most certainly post a picture. But it didn't have a veil remnant-- besides that it's a perfect big gymn. And the cap is so pretty!
