Incubating Casing??
    #3981799 - 03/28/05 10:12 PM (16 years, 1 month ago)

Im wondering whats the point of incubating your casings? Does it really matter? I mean the mycelium is already covered up by the mix and incubating seems like a waste of time. There's something Im missing isnt there?...

It's not a real big deal but it certainly does save time during the casing run and the drop in temps once fruiting is initiated really does help with the pinset numbers. Does it matter to me? Hell ya! Do I always do it? Not with thin casing layers (1/4" or less) but anything more I keep temps up for 3-4 days then initiated, for those who don't have there casing teks down pat wait until the myc shows through in at least a couple spots then patch wet down and initiate fruiting, thats my advice anyway.
