Yea it was only Head, not Davis. Head found God and went to Jerusalem. He wrote a "letter" (song) to Dimebag Darrel (R.I.P). He also wrote a "letter" (song) to 50 cent. No joke 50 cent.

they aren't rumors. head spoke about it. look on mtv.com

Wow. Korn must be really hardcore. What with the jesus convert and all. Nothing says street cred like having a bandmate find the lord.

who cares if they are christian or not. what matters is the quality of music..... which hit its peak with a set of bagpipes and a nursery rhyme on the first album

mabey they all made a deal with the devil and that particular band member is having second thoughts and is trying to redeem himself? i have an extreme obsession with the involvement of satan in the music industry. robert johnson knew this shit first hand and im damn near positive the crossroads most certainly existed.

I take it from your question that you are implying that AFI is "stupid mtv goth pop."  You shouldn't be so hasty to make this classification.

AFI has had six albums released, with only one of them able to be considered a "commercial success" (and even that is a stretch).  They have had (as far as I know) one video on mainstream MTV.

Now compare this to Korn, who has released six albums, with each one being able to be considered a "commercial success."  They have had (as far I know) at least one song from each album as a video that is played on mainstream MTV.

AFI has had 5 out of 6 albums released on Nitro Records (an independent label).

Korn has had 6 out of 6 albums released on Sony Records, (the devil incarnate ).

AFI's major influence were the Misfits, who were one of the original goth punk/rock bands.  They were not "pop goth" or even goth for there music career.  They have naturally evolved (taken their music in such a direction as) to this "goth" label.  You can witness this evolution if you listen to their albums in chronologic order.  You can also then realise that "Sing the Sorrow" cannot be simply labeled as "goth pop," or simply "goth" for that matter; it maintains goth influences.

Korn on the other hand has been "goth pop" from the get-go.

Anyways.... your implication of AFI being "goth pop" is based upon ignorance.

I read the link posted....thought this was utterly ridiculous:
"Sorry Jonathan, my 'false crusade' was not the reason I left KORN, it was what saved my life," Welch wrote. "I still love those guys to death, but if anybody trashes God, I am human and will defend Him and myself by any means necessary."

uhh.. I will defend god? dude, he doesn't need YOUR help to defend himself...hopefully he was just as unreasonable before he found god, otherwise that would be sad.

HAHAHAHAHA God is sitting there thinking "Whew, I'm glad I have the retarded guy from korn to back me up, or I'd be in trouble." Man. You know what, I bet for Korn members, turning into christian conservatives is evolution.

If Korn were in league with the devil, they would have a lot better music, man.

korn didn't have a video played on MTV til their third album.  And in the past 18 month who has had more MTV airplay?  AFI or korn?  I'm not sure as I haven't had cable tv in years but my impression is that it's AFI.

You're contradicting yourself.  So their major influence was the misfits(who you claim were goth) but they aren't goth at all?  But you digress and say they have evolved to take their music in the direction  of the "goth label"?  I guess they are pure "goth"  since they were influenced by the over-hyped misfits.

I would never use the label goth to describe music of any kind or anything other than fashion and possibly visual aesthetic.  I'll leave that to idiot rock journalists and 16 year-old girls.

You're implication that korn was goth-pop from the get go is out of bitter hate for their music.  Which I understand but it isn't true.

I never claimed that afi embodies "goth-pop" (more like emo-pop-punk) but they HAVE changed their sound to homogenize it for mass consumption as have korn.  Not to the same degree but it still happened.  You call it "evolution" but I could make the same claim for korn if I wanted to(which I don't).  Its selling out no matter which way you look at it.

I'm not ignorant of afi's past albums or their changes in style(<---I use that term only because you did).  Their earlier albums are OK, if not amateur, but after Shut Your Mouth...the band basically broke up and the only remaining member was Havok and HE plain sold out the band after that and whored out his borrowed image.  I have the assumption you like Havok's irritatingly redundant vocal style and his unoriginal lyrics and could care less about the music behind it.

Also, wasn't their latest album released by dreamworks...just as bad as  Sony IMO.
