Need help finding a suitable water pump for TiT.
    #3979919 - 03/28/05 01:11 PM (12 years, 2 months ago)

I've been looking around at Walmart, Kmart, ect and have not found a cheap, small, low volume water pump that would be suitable to move the water around in a TiT. Can anyone recommend one and possible give me a link. It doesn't need to be a fish tank one. A replacement for a small fountain should work better.

Just a suggestion: Save yourself the headache of tracking down a water pump for a TiT. Definitely not necessary!

you dont need a water pump for a TiT. Why would you need to move water around? You just need to heat it.

Only-heated water will tend to heat unevenly. Moving the water will allow the heater to heat all the water more evenly. But without a pump, just turn up the heat to the point where the tub's internal temp has equalized to your desired range.

I had a hard time trying to keep the temp constant in my TiT in my house because of big temp changes during the day. The sides would get really cold and the bottom really hot. Can you help or not?

Here's what you need.

Little pricey, though. You might try a place pet store that has aquarium supplys. Tell'em you need to move a little water around...tell'em it's to keep the fish from getting bored.

BTW.... why are you putting shrooms in the dishwasher?

The smart way to keep people passive and obedient is to strictly limit the spectrum of acceptable opinion, but allow very lively debate within that spectrum - even encourage the more critical and dissident views. That gives people the sense that there's free thinking going on, while all the time the presuppositions of the system are being reinforced by the limits put on the range of the debate

Thanks guys. BTW that's the oven, not the dishwasher. I dry my mushies at a low heat in there.

Heat from the heater will cause movment of heat within the water as it moves from areas of high concentration to low. No pump needed.
