Hi, Help please...
    #3973115 - 03/26/05 06:14 PM (11 years, 8 months ago)

I have some "Green Mold - Trichoderma harzianum, T. viride, T. koningii" growing in my jars, but i am reluctant to throw them away cuz i really want to get my mushrooms growing, I've been trying for the past 2 month to get my spores to work their stuff, this is my 3rd failure.

So i was wondering if it is still okay if I wait and birth the cakes and then put the cakes under some soil and hope that mushrooms grow. Should i be concerned that the mold will cause the mushrooms to be toxic?

As long as you open the jar outside, it will be ok. Don't open a jar with green inside your house or you release all those spores all over your growing area. Bury it in a rich area of your garden that gets shade in the afternoon. There is nothing in the trichoderma that is harmful to humans, so any fruits you get will be ok. Trich is considered a beneficial organism in a healthy organic garden.
