It really irritates me that I don't know. I have been told that copelandia cyanescens, Panaeolus Cyanescens and hawaiian copelandia are all names for the hawaiians, but which is THE one. Why do they go by so many names anyway? And what about Psilocybe cyanescens is that another name for them as well? This is really confusing! Please help me, lol.

Panaeolus Cyanescens or Copelandia Cyanescens or those dung loving warm weather loving mushrooms often called Hawaiians.
Psilocybe Cyanescens are potent wood loving mushrooms found in cooler climates.

Got a question about a substance? Erowid might already have your answer! Have questions about the mushroom experience? The Tripper's FAQ may have your answer or someone else might have had your question before. I know up on the top you are seeing great sights, but down at the bottom we, too, should have rights.

What's so funny? It grows on wood. It's found a lot on wood chips in parks, etc. in the the pacific northwest.

Yea man they grow off of wood mulch in teh seatle west coast area. Gyms are wood lovers and are active too. There are over a hundred species of pscylocibin containing mushrooms.
Copelandia cyanescens is the older scientific name. Recently some people have pushed to have them reclassified into the genus Panaeolus. I call them Copes, but either is technicly OK. I'm pretty sure thats the story, but if you want you could PM Mushroom John and I'm sure he would explian it to you. You can trust him to know which one is the "correct" term. Peace

That's cleared it up enough for me, thanks.
