Holy, Happy Holiday for Christian and Pagan Alike
    #3972346 - 03/26/05 02:22 PM (12 years, 5 months ago)

Easter has nothing to do with the East, it has to due with the ancient goddess Ishtar. She was Esther to the Hebrews, Astarte to to the Phoenicians and Inanna to the Babylonians. As Inanna, the goddess descended into the underworld in the manner of a Savior Goddess, ruled by her dark sister Erishkigal, on a mission to overcome death. Erishkigal was 'Queen of Hell.' Inanna failed in her task, while much later, during the patriarchal phase of humankind's development, Y'shua [Hebrew], or Iesus [Greek], was said to have accomplished the mission. Death and Hell were said to be conquered - not for the world-at-large, as is clearly evident, but in every human being who enters into the true Mysteries of Being-in-Christ.

So whether you assume a stance of asceticism this Lent season, and take a seriously contemplative Entheogenic Excursion this night of Saturn, that opens to the day of the Sun; or whether you are going to paint chicken ova, munch down chocolate bunnies, or make love on the Earth beneath the starry belly of the goddess Nut - the message of Eternal Life 'runs through' and is 'run through' with the temporal life of Nature - the life of 'eternal return.'

So, whether Resurrection is your life goal, or Rebirth - everyone have a joyous Holy/Happy Easter Holiday.

Regards to All -
MarkostheGnostic

I thought it was about my going shopping tonight for a basket and goodies to stuff it with and plastic eggs and fillings so I can hide them when my daughter's  asleep tonight and have her awaken to the gifts and fun, left by the Easter Bunny.

Renewal and reawkenings to all!
Happy Easter! :flowers: :egg:

Mark, very nice....!  If I had a goal, it would be to let everyone live in LOVE, PEACE, and JOY for eternity....  Even if it would cost me my very life....

As opposed to making another thread, it seems fitting to share here in our thread that you have made for us....  The first is one with a fractal that was made some 10 years ago called "Rising Sun"....    The second I started the other night, and have not had the time to finish yet - but I thought it was still ready to share just the same....  It is not named yet, but maybe I will have time to finish it after my friend leaves tonight....(?)

.
I HOPE that EVERYONE has a WONDERFUL Easter Holiday Celebration "alone", with their families, or the ones they LOVE the most in life....!
.
The gift of LIFE, and the gift of LOVE, to be shared by ALL in an ETERNAL PEACE and JOY....
Much LOVE to ALL from ME to YOU.....!

So Easter is about perpetuating fraud?

The proof is in the pudding.

It's not? I think the Crucifixion story is a total fraud. As for the Easter bunny, I'll take my chances at her forgiving me and understanding when she finds out its really me. I didn't even care when I found out about that stuff as long as I still got the goods.

I had to let it slip about the tooth fairy and she was a bit bummed out but understood and was glad to have had the belief for the time she did because "it was fun". So much so I guess, that she came to me later in the day and asked if we could still pretend for a while just to keep up the fun and I said, Sure.

Swam, if you ever have children, have you thought about the issues of play Santa and stuff? I am big on not lying to children because establishing their trust is vital. I had issues when I became a parent deciding if I was going to do the Santa stuff or not. I really had a hard time with it. Ultimately, I caved as remembering back on the fun of believing won out!
