ok let me get this straight...

1.Overlay is when the mycelleum grows through the case and LAYS OVER the caseing material?

2.If this occurs to my caseing i should take a sterile fork and scratch a. just the spot that have overlay b. the whole case

3. assuming 2 is correct and a... i should scratch all the way to the orig substrate and A. add some more caseing to make it lay flush with the rest of the case B. leaveit the hell alone

Thanks guys ive been looking for this answer for a little bit and feel ive done enough looking to ask and have it handed to me :) hehe

What i like to do, is just scratch up the surface good and add a thin layer of more casing soil. Seams to work. 1 day after i give it the new layer i will initiate pinning.

Leave it alone. Overlay is when the entire casing surface becomes thickly matted with mycelia.
