oh no... Myc. or Mold?
    #3968020 - 03/25/05 09:29 AM (19 years, 7 days ago)

I was just looking at photos of cobweb mold. Now I'm a bit paranoid that what I thought was myc. developing is actually cobweb mold. I don't have a pic right now. In my jars it is denser than it looks in the photos I saw (in the gallery). It is radiant white, and radiates outward in all directions from the middle. Can anyone give me some tips on differentiating between mold and myc.?

Cobweb is alot thinner than mycelium. Usually with cobweb you can see some substrate through it. Also cobweb grows MUCH FASTER and is of a more greyish-like color. What you are describing sounds like healthy mycelium to me but can't make an accurate decision without pictures. Gluck!

Plus mycelium is very stringy looking. Cobweb mold not so much.
