Urge Anti-Choice Politicians to Mind Their Own Business!
    #3965142 - 03/24/05 03:55 PM (12 years, 1 month ago)

Dear Friend,

I thought you might be interested in this Planned Parenthood
petition in support of medical privacy. State and federal
anti-choice politicians are threatening the privacy of women and
infringing on doctor-patient privilege by demanding confidential
medical records from reproductive health clinics. Planned
Parenthood is calling for federal legislation to stop this
invasion of privacy. You can help by signing the petition at the
link below.

"Six words: drop out, turn on, then come back and tune it in -and then drop out again, and turn on, and tune it back in-it's a rhythm- most of us think God made this universe in nature-subject object-predicate sentences-turn on, tune in, drop out- period, end of paragraph. Turn the page- it's all a rhythm- it's all a beat. You turn on, you find it inside, and then you have to come back (since you can't stay high all the time) and you have to build a better model. But don't get caught - don't get hooked - don't get attracted by the thing you're building, cause... you gotta drop out again. It's a cycle. Turn on, tune in, drop out. Keep it going, keep it going- the nervous system works that way. gotta keep it flowing- keep it flowing.

I have a question. Are there to be any names attached to these reports requested, or are the names redacted? Because if it's a strictly research effort then "WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM WITH GATHERING INFORMATION?"

Don't get me wrong. I think abortion should be mandatory unless you can pass a parental fitness test. I do not fear illumination. If however you're afraid legitimate inquiry will not support your position and you try to stifle it you are no better than the benighted hordes.

i have a question.

if they knew a case was statutory rape, and did nothing about it could they be sued?

example: a 11 year old girl gets pregnant by a 54 year old catholic priest.

If you think abortion (or "choice" as you put it) is right, then you should not be ashamed of it. I am pro-abortion btw. If you are ashamed of it, then you are coming just short of admitting you think its wrong.

Most politicians are anti-choice. The Libertarian Party is the only fully pro-choice party out there.

The LP polls the unborn children and allows their choice to be heard? Interesting.

Seeing as they're not considered humans, they're not included obviously. Would you poll sperm and eggs if you wanted to outlaw condoms or birth control? Sperm and eggs or fetuses in a women are both the same in that they are just potential life, but have no rights of their own, and are therefore part of another person's body until they reach a certain developemental stage, which fetuses being aborted without medical necessity have not yet reached.

What will you think of next? Polling cancers to see what kind of radiation treatment is most humane to it? Polling bacteria to see if antibiotics should be legal? Pro-choice only applies to developed humans, not fetuses who would probably be as conscious as a jellyfish, and with no chance of survival outside the host.

So if we lived in a libertarian land and I decided that I would stab a pregnant lady with a butcher knife and kill her child, but the mother survives, I'd be charged with assault?

Of course, a human isn't able to survive on it's own or make it's own decisions until it's 4-5 years old, at least. And it can't legally make it's own decisions until it's an adult at 18. Should a parent be able to kill their child whenever they want to?

What you have effectively illustrated there is that people have different rights at different stages in life. Thus, it is not so inconcievable that they do not have a right to life before a certain point in development.

A child can survive on its own after it is born. Of course it needs help, but it does not need to be connected directly to its mother to receive sustenance in a type of parasitic relationship, so it is its own separate organism.

People, for the most part, need society to get food, shelter, warmth, etc., but we don't say people can't survive on their own simply because they use society to live, because their individual bodies can function without society. It is the same with a child and its parents.

It doesn't necessarily matter legally what age you can vote and move out, but you become a human with human rights when you are born, and if you wanted to clarify it a bit you could even saw that you could be considered a human anytime where you could survive outside of the mother, so conceivably this could extend to the period before birth if the child could be conceived and grow as a human being. This would state that no, a human could not kill their child, because their child is a human being, even if they can't vote or legally make decisions.

I don't speak for the libertarians, but if you stabbed a woman whose fetus was such that it could conceivably exist outside of the mother, thereby making it a human being, such as an 8 and a half month old fetus, then that should be considered assault on the woman and murder of her child, but if all the woman had was a 2 week year old zygote that she lost in the assault, it seems ridiculous to charge someone with murder and assault simply because a zygote was killed.

Medical professionals should make the decision of when a fetus crosses the line and becomes an unborn human, but there is an obvious difference between a week old zygote and an unborn human that is two weeks away from birth, and legally this should be taken into account.

Tell me, what seperates a first trimester fetus, a zygote, from say.. a sperm and an egg? Determining when we consider something alive, is going to be a point of subjectivity based on beliefs. Scientificly.. you're not going to be able to prove consciousness, self awareness, etc.. And philosophy and religion don't hold water.

So when you can't prove one way or another, why do you feel the need to legislate it? B/c that's your beliefs? you do realize the point of "pro-choice" includes the choice to not support abortion right? It simply means don't dictate or impose force unto others over some subjective shit you can't prove one way or another.

As to the double homocide that's given to the convicted murderers..I'll agree the double standard is bullshit. They shouldn't be charged with a second murder. I do think a law should be written in place of that though, so a person can be charged for initating force and taking away that woman's ability to chose. And i think the punishment should be severe. That takes care of the hypocrisy issue, and the dipshit still gets extra time in prison.

Contrary to popular belief, women are no more human than a fetus is and it should be legal to kill them.
