PIC: Comparison between rhizomorphic growth and pins!!!!
    #3962835 - 03/24/05 01:51 AM (12 years, 7 days ago)

Slighly humid, but, I posted a question earlier about the growth I was having. Rhizo growth is mycellial, in that it is pure white. I just noticed that I am starting to get pins! Zillions of pins! Pins are more solid, not quite so bright white. At first I though some mold was attacking all of my casing, then I realized the small lumps were actually pins! In this pic you might be able to make out a mushroom-formed pin. More pics tomorrow!

So, here is a good picture (sorry I can't zoom in more).

See the little white bumps? Those are pins. The tall pointy whiter things are rhizomorphic growth.

Woohoo! My first attempt (aside from a few contammed BRF cakes). Its going to explode with fruits.

FYI rye grain spore innoc'd with Treasure Coast strain from www.thehawkseye.com, cased with 50/50+ tek, at first I had the casing dripping wet for a few days, I drained it, and did some deep scratching twice, it took a while to recover but it looks like it is going to be ok. Also reapplied some casing after the second scratch.

Sorry if this is well known info, I did not know until today the difference between pins and rhizo growth.

Check back for more pics!

Nice pic, though I do not see the primordia you speak of.

Edit::: Nevermind. I think I see some white knots.
