Alright...Got a fun Question about straw

Got half a bale...Lil old, kinda dirty
Oh well...

Ok, so i have a crock pot that only has 3 settings...off,low and high...

Off=...off
low=About 155F
High=about 200F

I know that over 180F is bad, so setting it on high is out of the question...

I was wondering if I'd be ok with it being in the 155F-160F for an hour?
Maybe I could keep it in there for 20-30mintues longer Just in case...

So what do you guys think? I've got some b+ and horse Poo just waiting out side...:smirk:

Anyone? It's 12:24 now...at 1:00  i'ma just go for it...

O and should I knock this Straw up byitselfe or should I mix it with poo and then knock those up together?...:rolleyes:
I'm kinda new at straw/poo, but i know how to sterilyze/pasturize...Just seeing if i got all this down right and if 150-160F is ok...

The temp. got up to 170F just now...huh...lol..Guess it just needed a full hour to heat up :shug:

Well..i'ma get something to weight it down and ill let it go for an hour...I'm excited :laugh:

But how should i got about colonization?

I've got a lc of Eq and B+...No bags...Jus jars...
Oh yea, and i put the straw in soaks...i dont have any pillow cases that i can use...Looks like it'll be ok....
And should I put something on the bottom of the crock pot...so that it doesnt mess up the straw....or will the sock suffice?

simply use a 5:1 ratio of poo to spawn, make sure you extract excess water
incubate it with a piece of glad wrap over it and in a few days you should look good

small scale bulk... thats how I did it but I used vacuum seal bags, the socks should be sufficient

i think you gotta pasturize for a couple hours, not 1 hour. i pasturized at 150-160 degrees for about 3 or so hours and then turned the oven off and let them sit there until the bags cooled.

It's taking awhile to heat up but i'm rather ...tranquil, so it'll be alright...

I was just wondering if anyone else had any input on how long i should pasturize....an hour? 3hours?
