What kind of tape should I put over the 4 holes using the PF tek?

Scotch, masking, or duct; anything works.

P.S., you don't need to cover your jars w/ tape :smile:

I've heard aluminum foil tape works extremly well

A breathable type of surgical tape works well. Good Luck.

You want something that will allow for gas exchange. With a 3/4" layer of vermiculite in the top of your jars, tape isn't always necessary, unless your conditions are extremely dirty.

Im going to have a hole with polyfil in the center, and tape up to four holes. Also where can i buy peat moss to case with?

I think its better with no tape to let you know what i did , i inverted the lids and then put one layer of aluiman foil over the mouth of the jar then screwed the lid on , with my holes already punched in the lid (4)holes.. So then i Steamed bathed for almost 2 hours , Then let cool for a day , IN the Pf-tek it states that the Dry Verm . Acts as the Contam. barrier .,The holes need to be uncovered for the Gas exchange.

the polyfil (stuffing) is fed through a 1/4 inch hole in the top of the jar. in addition to this, a layer of tyvek is often introduced to reduce the risk of contamination. the purpose is to allow air exchange w/out increasing the risk of cont. posed by four holes in your lid.

I just use two coffee filters held with a rubber band with no tape for gas exchange and reduce contam
