ok i went mushroom hunting and im not that experienced. I've just ate ones that i've bought from the local drug dealer. Here is what i found, numberous mushrooms together in kinda of like clusters that was growing in some mulch/dead trees. Here is a picture of the shrooms http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=Pictures&Number=395262&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&part= they are dirty so please excuse that. What i think they might be are these mushrooms at this link http://www.shroomery.org/findorgrowthem.php?View=docs&doc=80 i think it's the Blue-Foot psiilocybe, the picture can be seen from a link on it's desription. The mushroom looks exactly like it, the same types of charestics and was found where it said it would be found. Some additional info these plants were found in Ohio just today. If someone can help identify them i would really appreciate it. I don't want to hurt myselfs. Thanks!

i really doubt thats what you have, make an effort to get some pics of undamaged mushrooms, take a sporeprint, check for bluing reaction. etc. dont just come along and say "these look like this. are they?" because nobody is going to be able to tell.

Yeah, most Psilocybes look similar enough to even get THEM confused! Also, when a picture is taken and then put on the net, it tends to look alittle different than what the photographer actually saw. You know, we've all got preferences or default colors, etc. on our puters. It takes alot of involvement to ever definitely identify a mushroom, especially if we are not the one with it in our hands. Just adding this to Mitch's statement. Stay cool and I hope things Pan out for you! Nyuck, Nyuck! Pan out for you! Hehe! Yeah, you should be looking for Panaeolus subbalteatus right now, man! -Levi7.

Cut the stem from the cap as close as possible, while preserving good condition of the cap. Are the gills pure white? If not, then put the cap gills-down on a white piece of paper(try to keep the paper dry as possible!) and cover the cap and paper with a bowl or cup. Wait approx. 24 hours and uncover. This should reveal the color of the spores for the mushroom you're taking the print of. If the mushroom has pure white gills, then it's a good idea to tape two pieces of paper(on the underside, of course), both black and white and do the above procedure. White spores will show up on black paper, but may not be noticeable on white paper. This is a very easy test to find out the spore color! If you don't know, dispose any rusty brown spore-colored mushrooms! Do so in a safe way. You don't want any pets, little brothers or even wild coons getting ahold of rusty-brown spore-colored mushrooms! Too great a possibility of them being deadly poisonous, as The Galerina family may be a candidate for your positive ID! Don't even think about any pure white spore-colored mushroom being good to eat, man! There are deadly Amanitas, such as A. phalloides and A. verna, ocreata, and virosa! I'm sure you know this, but DO NOT EAT ANY MUSHROOM THAT IS NOT WITHOUT A DOUBT EDIBLE OR PSILOCYBIAN! Psilocybin species of mushrooms have a purplish-brown-colored spore print. There are species of Panaeolus that have a jet-black to brownish-black-colored spore print and contain active chemicals, also, such as Psilocybin, Psilocin, Baeocystin, Norbaeocystin, and possibly Seratonin. http://mjshroomer.yage.net has some excellent photographs of "active" species as well as some deadly look-alikes. Stay cool and Merry Mushings!-Levi7.
