Time For A Different Strain
    #3954073 - 03/22/05 02:27 PM (19 years, 11 days ago)

I live in Texas and I have already found and grown Cubensis. We have 5 acres and a nice little stream running all the way across it, and a next door neighbor that lets me look for mushrooms in his animal feces. I was wondering if and how I could find some other types of hallucinogenic mushrooms. I would like to find maybe a woodlover, or a more potent dunglover. Where would be the best area's to search? I searched along the creek today and I didn't see any mushrooms at all. Are there any woodlovers in texas? Thanks for your help, Chronic

keep looking and you will eventually (hopefully depending where in TX you live?) find a more potent dung-lover which would be the Cope Cyan (aka blue meanies)-  much more potent than cubes By weight...  I havent found any of those since Nov tho sadly
:frown:

this is what they can look like in the wild

most copes Ive found tho have smaller more Antillarum looking caps tho- i was lucky to find those big guyz

I think you should edit the Cult part and post that as a new Thread in the Cult forum

Ya man, I found some of those in fall of last year, but they were small so I didn't spore print them. We found them early one morning becuase we didnt have as many cubensis as we wanted so we found them, washed them, ate them. How about along my creek, under trees, and in grassy areas? Are there any other kinds of 'magical' mushrooms to possibly find here? Thanks, Chronic

if there are cows and/or horses in those areas- Your prob not going to find any other magic than cubes or copes in TX-

where abouts are you - Im central close to Austin

One of the main fields I hunt has a creek running through it lined with trees on both sides and a nice bridge to sit under and trip out
as the cars drive above you

Thats pretty cool dude, I live in central texas too.  about 1 hour from austin i think.  I went on a journey to find some mushrooms and all i found were some big orange ones under a tree and this:

and a big ass turtle .  hah.  i don't know anything about non-dungloving fungi so i just left them.  i just checked my field and nothin is out yet, but we got a nice rain yesterday so im hoping ill see some soon.  Chronic

That would be different species, not a different strain.

And no wood lovers of the psilocybian kind do not grow in Texas. Only warm Tropidal and subtropical shroomies

Gymnopilus spectabilis is reported from Texas. They can be found growing from stumps and rotting logs. Other active Gyms may also be there.
