what's the hold up?

on feb 16th i inoculated 12 pf jars with the ecuadorian strain. after incubating them around 84 degrees the surface was fully colonized in about three weeks. i then placed them at room temp (around 75 degrees) and put them in indirect light. it has been over three weeks and stiil nothing. everything i read said that the cakes should completely colonize within a week and then pins should appear, afetr that they would be ready to dunk and then placed in the growing chamber. i want to know what is taking them so long and if there is anything i could do to get them where they need to be.

Are they still in the jars, or did you birth them? Also, did you dunk them?

Cakes require 95%+ RH to fruit correctly.

It has to be the incubation technique. You could be losing moisture and that would lead to halted myc growth. Are you using a TIT?

did you dunk them?

what is your humidity in your fruiting chamber?

are you giving them good air exchange?

what strain of cubensis?

the cakes are still in the jars and there are water droplets on the inside of the glass so i know that the cakes are hydrated. what i am asking is: shouldn't the jars start to pin before you birth them and if so why haven't they yet? the starin is ecuador.

Because you are trying to pin them invitro. Not all strains can pin invitro! They should have been birthed into a fruiting chamber.
