I know this question has probably been answered billions of times, but im new, so just wanted to know what everyones favorite music was when taking shrooms. If you could write back, I would appreciate it! Thanks!!

modest mouse is quite enjoyable (i suggest Good News for People Who Love Bad News, but they have a bunch of shit) just be sure your mental state is calm, open, and most of all confident, as they tend to talk about some dark things at times, but it makes the trip that much better peace

311 - transistor is my absolute favorite tripping cd... well... I can't really say that. I love to listen to KMFDM, Lords of Acid, Infected Mushroom... and other stuff that has a lot of effects while tripping.

Nothing better then psy/goatrance in my opinion, like the lyric from the Hallucinogen track you post there. Before i listened to pink floyd and stuff like that, but most of that stuff isn't going ass deep ass psy or goa. Both for listening and partying

it totally depends what mood i'm in at the time, and the dose i'm doing. i usually make a few different playlists before a trip, then play whichever one i feel like at the time. i've listened to everything from beethoven to death metal while tripping. and as far as metal goes; nevermore is awesome because the lyrics are all about acid.

Tool, always Tool and A perfect circle for me while triping. Also Modest Mouse, Goa trance, Pink Floyd... and just listening to Timothy Leary makes the trip seem more intense.

Roger Waters - Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking
somebody in another music thread turned me on to them, and it's all i listen to when i trip now. lots of fast paced music, then slow paced, alot of quite then loud, singing and talking....really helps enhance the trip and keeps changing it with each new 'section' of music

I suggest Aphex Twin, specifically the Richard D. James Album. Or maybe a mellower sound like some Boards of Canada's "Geogaddi. Or if you're into more rock music than electronica, try some older Incubus stuff, pink floyd, or radiohead. It all depends on what you're into. Of course its always good to try out new stuff. On my next trip i hope to listen to some Mars Volta or Godspeed You Black Emperor.

The Beatles right now. Im sort of discovering them for the first time even though I've been aware of them for so long. For some reason I never gave them a chance now they are my favorite band. Magical Mystery tour is a great trip album. Peace

Tool, Led Zeppelin, Ben Haper, Ludwig Van Beethoven, The Beatles, The Pixies, Enya, The Doors, and some passionate opera. Quite a difference really, all saved under "trippy" on my winamp play list.

I've tried things like Tool and Floyd, but I always have the best time with tribal techno music. Transglobal Underground is excellent for this, there's always a large variety in thier music so your expierience in incredibly varied.

The only album I've ever thrown on tripping is Tool - Aenima. Yeah, it was pretty cool.
A sweet song to listen to tripping is Melvins - Divorced.

Im suprised that no one has mentioned The Mars Volta.
Anyone of their albums will do....but Deloused is certainly a more "out there" album considering the band itself was using drugs for inspiration while working on the album.

In case you're still checking in on this thread, do not let yourself overlook this artist:
Lewis Taylor, a white UK soulboy whose music is informed by a prog-rock sensibility. Imagine Marvin Gaye, Brian Wilson, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix and Todd Rundgren doing a psychedelic soul album together, and you're most of the way there.
All of his albums are masterpieces in their own way, but start with his self-titled debut from 1996, and his most recent album, Lost his two best albums.
You can also check out some of his b-sides and bonus tracks here, they're a lot more experimental but still fucking genius (Lewis III especially make me feel funny all over when I listen to it tripping):
You can check out some of the b-sides from his first album and bonus tracks here:
Lewis III - like Beach Boys on acid Waves - more Beach Boys on acid Trip So Heavy - the name says it all A Little Bit Tasty - a whisper to a scream Pie In Electric Sky/If I Lay Down With You - and back again I Dream The Better Dream - nice, mellow Asleep When You Come - spooky sounding at the beginning, but builds nicely You Got Me Thinking - straight ahead funk Cherry Blossom - a gorgeous ballad, first dance at my wedding Cover of Jimi's Electric Ladyland Cover of Jeff Buckley's Everybody Here Wants You
-------------------- "We dont deliberately try and make everything come out like that [space oriented]. It just works out that things happen that way. We all read science fiction and groove to '2001'; its all very good. But some of our things happen completely accidentally." -David Gilmour, Pink Floyd

This is my first post. I've yet to trip on mushrooms but I have tripped fairly hard on acid and had the most pure and beautiful, positive experience of my life. I listened to music nearly the whole time after it kicked in, and I found that while in that state, sounds affected my mind and soul in the same way you would differentiate frigid calm air and a humid windy summer day- very real and dramatic. Songs such as "Dry the Rain" by Beta Band and "Any Colour You Like" by Pink Floyd had my spirits soaring in the vast universe of my inner beauty. I was a melted puddle of bliss in the floor being the beauty. Anyway, some of the songs my trip buddy selected were simply unacceptable. Any hint of pretentiousness or un-artfulness (lol, new word) really rubbed me the wrong way. Anything electronic besides Air was no good, but I see lots of frantic electronic music on nearly everyone's list of suggestions. I'm aware that there is a difference in the realms of sound between lsd and mushrooms, but being a virgin of the latter, I'm unaware of exactly what that difference is. If someone could enlighten me by comparing and contrasting, it would be much appreciated and useful. Thank you.
