Coffee grinder.  Get the simplest one you can find.  Here's an example: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00004SPEU/102-4534159-2922562?v=glance

Don't get a fancy one that grinds it and spits it out - I tried that, and it doesn't grind the flour fine enough.  Just get one with a little container with a blade in it - you can leave it in longer if you want it finer.

Definitely a coffee grinder. If you do get one, you can grind your rice a little coarser than normal brown rice flour. Makes your substrate a little more airy, which allows the mycelium to colonize your cake easier. If you do this, you can increase the amount of water per cake by 1-1 1/2 tablespoon. The chunkier rice will absorb this extra water. Good Luck.

Is it normal for the rice to have diffent colors. At first it is brown powder but as i grind it up the powder turn more white. Is this just because the inside of the rice is white and outside is brown.

LOL..... if you ever stumble into a grocery store type coffee grinder, it will grind rice, rye, wbs to any size grind you want at a rate of about 1 pound per minute.

You can also just use one at a grocery store, if you are ballsy.

If you place it in a dry quart jar with a tight lid, it will last as long as any flour in your kitchen cabinet.

Agar, when you grind your BR, do you grind it a little coarser then you can buy it? I have on this batch and my colonizing seems to be going a little better then last.
